Agrilia Melih Teksen

AGRILIA

The first person who fell in love with Alaçatı, as far as I know, was a very valuable lady, the late Leyla Hanım. Sensing the silent and hidden gem sleeping in Alaçatı, even before there was a single hotel or restaurant, she discovered an old tobacco warehouse in 1995 and transformed it into a cafe. The life of the city dweller began with her, right next to the villager's life. In 1999, Melih Teksen took over the flag from Leyla Hanım and opened Agrilia, reflecting his own passions and soul into it. Despite the recent Alaçatı raids, Agrilia, which managed to be the only place that did not lose its soul, flavor and care, has been at the forefront of the places that made Alaçatı 'Alaçatı' for years. Agrilia, which chef Melih Teksen, who is almost an artist, has devoted himself to for years, now welcomes its guests in the garden and building of Alavya Hotel, full of memories, right across from its original location. The most important feature of Agrilia is its unique gourmet and experimental flavors. Melih Teksen, who has never left his kitchen for 15 years, is the most artistic chef I know. He chooses every ingredient he uses himself, and adds experimental flavors to the menu every year. His vodka with thyme, which he prepares with his own method from the poppy flower he collects, was on menus even in Istanbul 10 years ago, and then he came up with new discoveries: The favorite of 2016 will be the magnificently delicious Tamarind Bourbon cocktail. Sardines in vine leaves, smoked meat, artichoke kokoreç, steamed calamari, spinach beetroot pear, purslane oriental, zucchini apricot einkorn salads, fresh broad bean sweetbread, apple turkey ragu tortellini, smoked meat vodka tagliolini, einkorn chicken confit, lomo, marinated or dry-aged entrecôte, vegetable meatballs, fig black, profiterole and affogato are all delicious flavors that you need to go to Agrilia many times to taste. Being a constantly changing and living place is another factor that keeps Agrilia alive, and you encounter a new surprise every time you come. At Agrilia, where you breathe and feel the experience, the smiling faces and warmth of the team always make you feel like you are at home. Agrilia is the most characterful restaurant I have ever seen. We are now happy to taste it both in summer and winter.
