8. Germiyan Festival

This year, at the Germiyan Bread Festival held between October 15-16, beautiful and delicious local sourdough breads competed.

 

In the festival where the concert and procession were cancelled due to the sad events in Bartın, stands were opened where local producers exhibited their products. Ebru Kaya held a “Village Katmer” and “Groom’s Delight” workshop in Çukuriçi Square. Following the opening of Şükran Tümer’s exhibition titled “From Past to Present” in the Old Flour Mill, Ayşe Kabasakal explained the “Kopanisti Cheese” specific to the region. Nuran Erden, who made her name known in Turkey with the paintings she made on the walls of Germiyan houses, wrote “Bartın in Our Heart” on the wall of the Village School with the children.
